Back to Square One

Hey there,

So my previous post was about how I had planned on making mitten for my lover and how I had planned to use this video to help me make them.

Today I went to the nearest Fabricland and bought some fabric, fleece for the inside and a hunting camouflage for the palm of the mitten (because my honey loves to hunt) and then I cut up an old sweater that I had bought at value village.

I then came home to start working on them. I had printed out the PDF of the mitten pattern and began cutting it out. It took me awhile to cut the pieces of fabric out that were required! and once I got them cut and and began sewing pieces together, I realized that the mittens were going to be too small for my honeys hands, because they were perfect for mine.

So here I am, back at square one, with a lot of scraps of fabric, and a discouraged self.

If anybody tried it out, let me know how it went!

Thanks for reading!

Mittens For My Lover

So Christmas is coming up fast and I am beginning to think of gifts for my friends and family. I always prefer making gifts rather than buying them, mostly because I like the idea and the thought that was put into creating each gift. That is the artist in me!

Anyways, so my lover has just recently bought a pair of mitts that he immediately regrets buying. My plan is to make a pair for him that he will actually like! I just went to the nearest value village and bought a sweater that I think would make a good mitt (there were a lot to choose from!) but I chose one that I think fits his taste.

I plan on using this video and the pattern to make his mittens. If you are interested you can try it to!

Hope you are getting into the Christmas spirit. It won't last long!

Greek Lemon, Chicken and Herb Soup

Today I made a new soup that I had for the first time last weekend!

It was a Lemon, Chicken and herb Greek soup. Delicious if you ask me. I liked it so much that I decided to make it for myself today! I used this recipe, but knowing me, I didn't follow the recipe exactly.

I cooked my chicken previously by itself he day before. I then cut up the previously cooked chicken and added it to the soup. Everything else I cooked in the pot, but I also only let the soup cook for around an hour. It still turned out delicious!

If you are planning on using uncooked chicken, I would follow the recipe to a `T`

Hope all is well, Thanks for reading!

Mother's Birthday Gift

Hello! This is my first post ever as a blogger on my first blog that I have ever blogged on! Just thought I'd get that out of my system!

This weekend was my mother's birthday. I have recently been on a healthy living kick and bought her some natural, plant-based products to use instead of potentially harmful ones! I had bought her a face cream for youthful looking skin and that helps initiate cell turnover, bath salts from the Dead Sea, and also a plant-based moisturizer.

To add my own touch to the gift, I created my own wrapping paper by using watercolors and a paintbrush to create the wonderful colors on the paper. I then created little "usage" tags for each item, and how I thought she might want to use them.

Safe to say I think she enjoyed the gift and had a wonderful birthday! :)
